Import a JDM car from Japan
Right-hand-drive cars, vans and 4x4s from the auctions in Japan, 25 years old or older, so they clear the import rule (roughly 2001 and earlier). You see the auction sheet and the full landed price before you bid.

Why buy at auction in Japan
Thousands of cars go through Japanese auctions every week, and each one is inspected and graded by the auction house. Buying there gives you the widest choice and an independent condition report, instead of whatever a reseller happens to have on the lot.
How importing works with Unsato
Pick a lot, read the translated auction sheet and the landed price, and set your maximum bid. We bid for you, handle export in Japan, ocean freight, US customs and the title paperwork, then you pick the vehicle up at the port or have it trucked to your door. Details are on How it works and Shipping.
Questions we hear
A vehicle at least 25 years old, counted to the month of manufacture, can be imported into the US without meeting US safety standards, and EPA exempts vehicles 21 years and older. In 2026 that means cars built up to the same month of 2001. Every lot on Unsato is marked when it is eligible.
Yes. Right-hand drive is legal in all US states. You register the car with the import documents and title paperwork we send you.
Every auction lot has an inspection sheet with a grade, mileage and a body map of dents, scratches and rust. We translate the notes and can tell you what a grade means on a car that age.
The landed price on each lot adds the auction price, fees in Japan, ocean freight, US customs and port charges. Import duty depends on how customs classifies the vehicle and is shown separately in the calculator.
